Field Study: Geology & Ornithology!

May 12, 2018 9:00 AM

Opt outside!  Spend a day studying local geology and scoping out birds in Tacoma's incomparable 760-acre Point Defiance Park.  You'll search for bald eagles, owls, woodpeckers and check out migratory species.  You'll learn about how the park's spectacular cliffs were formed over tens of thousands of years and discover how to identify the layers that tell their story.  Learn to read the secret story of soil.  All field study participants will get their own pair of binoculars to take home, plus an all-weather field notebook. Dress for the weather and bring a sack lunch.

This class will meet on Saturday at the Seabury Middle School.
