Ada Lovelace Day - Middle School
October 10, 2017
Lady Lovelace was an amazing mathematician from a young age who worked with Charles Babbage to advance his ideas about a mechanical adding machine, and wrote an early version of computer code to allow it to be more versatile. She is sometimes named as the first computer coder. Ada Lovelace Day was created to celebrate women working and studying in the STEM fields and to encourage other young women to enter STEM careers. We have invited several of our female parents who work in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics to come and talk and run activities to encourage our students to work in those fields regardless of their gender.
