Children can explore the world of finance and delve into the basics of economics using modeling clay! Students will engage in fun-filled simulations that will teach many economic concepts such as goods, services, saving, production, scarcity, opportunity cost, trade, specialization, savings, markets, supply, demand, market prices, cost and profits - even inflation! Students will also learn about the stock market. They will learn to read the stock pages, research companies and assemble a $1,000,000 simulated portfolio of stocks. They will trade (or not), to see what they might lose or earn over the course of the week.
